In our commitment to a cleaner environment, we are involved in a variety of product-focused initiatives that help us, our customers and the planet.

Unisys Corporation is committed to complying with governmental legislative and regulatory requirements for providing environmentally sound recovery, recycling, and disposal of customer end-of-life Unisys name-branded electrical and electronic equipment.

To address proper recovery, recycling, and disposal of customer end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment that is consistent with legislative or regulatory requirements, Unisys utilizes only environmentally sound disposition partners. In the European Union these partners are conducting business in a manner that is consistent with the requirements of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive and related Member State legislation.

Product Reuse and Recycling Programs

Since 1997, over 45.5 million pounds of obsolete products collected internally and from customers were processed through our product parts recovery facility and third-party facilities. Many parts were refurbished for future reuse as replacement parts, while the remaining materials were delivered to end of life electronic equipment recyclers. In 2021, over 250,000 pounds of end of life electronics were collected as a part of this program.

Unisys participates in a variety of community outreach programs that involve donations of excess office supplies and equipment, office furniture, and electronic media to schools, non-profit organizations and small businesses. Over the years many tons of previously used equipment has been diverted from landfills as the result of such outreach programs. In addition, Unisys actively participates in the recycling of aluminum cans, glass bottles, paper, cardboard, and packaging materials.

Whenever possible, Unisys promotes recycling opportunities, reduces waste generation and encourages the wise use of supplies and materials during and after their useful life. Printer Cartridge Recycle Program

Unisys encourages employees and customers to recycle printer cartridges; significantly reducing a landfill waste stream. The recycling program has been expanded to include employee home generated print cartridges as well.

Environmentally Safe Packaging

We use environmentally safe packing materials and shipping cartons such as corrugated pads and recyclable cellulose wadding for distribution of products.
